Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Sanctum ("we," "us," or "the app") is a spiritual-growth app that helps you build daily faith habits. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Sanctum, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information needed to run the app and provide your experience:
- Account information: your email address, a username, and an encrypted password.
- Onboarding answers: your spiritual goal, age (optional), experience level, how often you practice, preferred practice times, and any challenges you choose to share.
- Your spiritual activity: logs you create — prayer and devotion time, scripture reading, acts of service, rest/sabbath, journal and gratitude entries — and saved Bible verses.
- Character & progress: your chosen calling, virtue stats, level, experience points, and streaks.
- Fellowship: friend connections you create with other users, and the leaderboard standings derived from your activity.
- Chaplain conversations (optional): if you use the AI Chaplain, the messages you write and its replies. See section 3 for how these are handled.
- Subscription status: whether your Sanctum Premium subscription is active. We never receive or store your payment card details — see section 4.
Reminders stay on your device. Sanctum uses local notifications, scheduled by your phone. If you turn reminders on, your chosen time and practice days never leave the device, and we do not collect a push token or send you anything from our servers.
We do not collect health or fitness data, precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To save your progress, streaks, logs, and saved verses.
- To generate your daily missions and, if you use them, the AI features described in section 3.
- To show fellowship standings among friends you connect with.
- To provide the features included with a Sanctum Premium subscription, and to count Chaplain messages against the free weekly allowance.
3. How Your Information Is Stored & Shared
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, our hosting and database provider, and is protected by row-level security so that you can only access your own data. See Supabase's privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
Sanctum's optional AI features — the Chaplain, AI devotion plans, your daily blessing, and the weekly recap — are generated by Anthropic (the Claude AI provider). To make them personal rather than generic, each request sends only what that feature needs:
- Chaplain: the messages in your conversation, together with your character name and calling.
- Devotion plans: your calling, your chosen goal, and your virtue stats.
- Daily blessing: your character name, calling, and current streak.
- Weekly recap: your character name, calling, streak, and your activity totals for the week (for example, how many chapters you read or minutes you prayed).
We never send your journal or gratitude entries, your email address, or your password to Anthropic or anyone else — your journal is yours alone, and even the weekly recap counts your entries without reading them. Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train their models. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Please treat the Chaplain as encouragement, not counsel: it is an AI companion, not a substitute for your pastor, your church, or professional care, and it is not an emergency service. Avoid sharing information you would not want processed by an AI provider.
What friends can see. When you connect with someone in Fellowship, they can see your character, level, streak, and standings. Your journal entries are never visible to anyone but you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described in this policy that are necessary to operate the app.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Sanctum Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple. Apple processes the payment — we never see, receive, or store your card number or billing details. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. When you purchase or restore, RevenueCat receives your account identifier and the purchase information from Apple (such as the product, the purchase and renewal dates, and whether the subscription is active), and tells our server whether to unlock premium features. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
The only thing we store about your subscription is whether it is currently active. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your device; cancelling stops future renewals and premium remains available until the paid period ends.
5. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app: Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your character, progress, logs, saved verses, and fellowship connections. This action cannot be undone.
6. Children's Privacy
Sanctum is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through the app, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request a copy of your data or to object to certain processing.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at support@torxellabs.com.
